Planning for Higher Yields in 2019

Posted on

With winter officially upon us, producers are evaluating their harvest data to determine what fields and seed varieties did well and what adjustments to make for higher yields in 2019.

Here are a few tips to consider when planning for next year.

  • Save Your Work – Be sure to collect and save data off your displays even if you don’t plan on using it right away. If you ever decide to use it, you’ll be glad you took the time now. It’s always good to have a record past yield data to identify what’s working and areas for improvement to achieve higher yields in the future.
  • Pick A Place – Identify and commit to a good data platform. John Deere Operations Center is our go to program. John Deere Ops Center works with all brands of equipment if you have a mixed fleet. It is free and worth checking out.
  • Get Advice Take the guess work out of what your fields need and have soil samples pulled by an agronomist. Recommendations from a trusted source can save a lot in input fertilizer costs and help fuel next year’s higher yield performance.
  • Save Some Cash There are plenty of good deals going on right now such as $300 off Active Yield Kits and upgrading JDLink terminals to 4G. Visit Reynolds to learn more out about Precision Ag Specials and team.

About Reynolds

Reynolds Farm Equipment is a leading equipment dealer serving farmers, homeowners, landscapers and commercial contractors in throughout Indiana. Founded by farming husband and wife A.W. “Mac” and Arline Reynolds in 1955, the company began as a small John Deere agricultural equipment dealer serving Fishers, Indiana. Even in a small farming town of 350, it would be the biggest challenge the two had ever experienced while balancing work, church and most importantly, family. Today, Gary Reynolds leads the company, and his daughters, granddaughter and a number of family members serve throughout the organization. Those same values of family and serving our customers are instilled in everything Reynolds does.
