60 Years at the Great Indiana State Fair

Posted on

From utility tractors to lawn mowers, to Gators and anything in between, Reynolds brings it all to the seventeen days of the Indiana State Fair. 2017 marks 60 years of friendship between Reynolds Farm Equipment and the Indiana State Fair. For the past 60 years, Reynolds has showcased their contribution to the state of Indiana ‘s agriculture while demonstrating and modeling John Deere Equipment at the Mac Reynolds Barn.

What can you expect to experience when you visit Reynolds Farm Equipment at the 2017 Indiana State Fair:

Test Drive John Deere Equipment:

Take advantage of the day and experience the power, ease of use and versatility of a John Deere compact tractor with a test drive. Try different models, learn how to easily remove the Quik-Park Loader or the AutoConnect mower deck, and more. PLUS, receive a Drive Green Coupon, valued at $250 off any John Deere 1- 6 Family tractors and attachments!

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to talk to our experts on tractors, turf, utility, and implements, plus your chance to enter to win a 3E Series Tractor package!

Mac Reynolds Barn:

The Mac Reynolds Barn serves as home base for Reynolds employees and customers. People often visit their long-lost friends, purchase Reynolds and Deere merchandise, and learn more about the history of the Reynolds Family.

This year the barn will feature the very first unit sold in the State of Indiana, a John Deere 1963 110 Lawn & Garden tractor. Years later, Reynolds took this same tractor back as a trade-in from the same customer. The serial number above this unit is in the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.

Also, on display is the original 1950 Chevrolet truck Reynolds Farm Equipment used for running and delivering parts and errands for the business, a service that is still practiced today, whether it’s at one/company/locations of our locations, in the field or at your home. Today, the truck is still in the family and owned by Meredith “Joe” Reynolds, son of A.W. “Mac” Reynolds, Sr.

Light Up the Night Parade:

This first day of Fair kick-off event is sponsored by Reynolds Farm Equipment. People decorate their tractors and light up the night for State Fair attendees to enjoy on Friday, August 4th. The public gathers to watch these decorated tractors take their lap in the parade. If you attend this parade, be sure to look out for Reynolds!

FFA Pavilion Sponsorship:

The Light Up the Night Parade isn’t the only thing Reynolds Farm Equipment sponsors! Because we believe in educating the youth, we donated a metal pedal tractor to Indiana FFA for their use in agricultural mechanics and production farming demonstrations. The pedal tractor will be part of a grain bin simulation along with other activities that serve as an educational tool for the public.

For the past 60 years, families have been using the green and yellow equipment as a photo-op during the Fair. This year, children and families can gather around 9620R Tractor to capture their experience at Fair. Although John Deere equipment is the perfect background or prop for a picture, this equipment is more than a photo-op; it serves as an educational tool for the public. People who have never seen a tractor can experience a large part of the agriculture industry and view some of the newest innovations Reynolds has to offer.

The Great Indiana State Fair runs from August 4th to August 20th and Reynolds will be there every day! While you’re indulging in State Fair food, walking the livestock barns, or enjoying a free concert, be sure to look out for Reynolds! Don’t miss out on the equipment, barn, or parade during your visit!
