Christmas Lights Bring Joy to Food Pantry
1/4/2010 The Fishers Come·To·Me Food Pantry of Hamilton County, a mission based out of the Fishers United Methodist Church were beneficiaries of monetary donations from generous people within and outside of the Fishers, IN community when motorists visited the recent free 17th annual Christmas Lights Display at Reynolds Farm Equipment. "We realize that we have a 'vehicle' for a captive audience when people visit our annual lights display," said Michael Lawson of Reynolds Farm Equipment. "Since the beginning, we know the reason for our display is to bring the sheer joy of Christmas into people's hearts. It's something that as long as we continue to do, it will always be a gift, something free, for people within the community and beyond, to enjoy," says Lawson. Reynolds Farm Equipment teamed up with the Fishers Come·To·Me Food Pantry this year to help the food pantry provide food and non-perishable goods to those that need it. Visibly-identified volunteers on behalf of the food pantry collected monetary and non-perishable goods donations on Friday and Saturday evenings in December, as well as Christmas Eve. Only because of the generosity of the people who visited the display was the Fishers Come·To·Me Food Pantry able to raise over $22,000 in monetary donations for the food pantry. On behalf of Reynolds Farm Equipment, we would like to thank everyone who contributed in donating to the Fishers Come·To·Me Food Pantry. Your generous gifts are helping feed those both in and surrounding areas. For more information about the food pantry, please, visit their website. |
