Who's The Voice Singing Reynolds Commercials?
5/6/2008 What's In A Song? The music sounds a bit like Heartland bred- roots from a famous Hoosier rocker. The voice sounds vaguely familar too. Who is singing on the Reynolds commercials? What's the name of that song? Those are some of the questions that we receive via e-mail in regards to the recent Reynolds radio commercials heard on many Indianapolis and surrounding stations. The artist is Joe Puerta. If his name doesn't sound familiar, then perhaps some of his work with other bands will. Joe is one of the founding members of the 70's band, Ambrosia, that had hit songs like "How Much I Feel" and "Biggest Part Of Me" to name a couple. He was also a member of Bruce Hornsby & The Range that too also had hit songs such as "The Way It Is" and "Mandolin Rain." The song heard on the Reynolds commercials is called "Sound of The Land," and was originally heard at a John Deere Lawn & Garden New Product Introduction a few years ago. The video that accompanied it featured Joe singing as well as new John Deere products. "Sound of The Land" comes across as a real roots- infectious song, the same way that John Deere would value their heritage and tradition in the products that they design and build. Reynolds Farm Equipment holds a license to use the song in all of our electronic means of advertising and will continue to build on the message of that song as it protrays to our business and the John Deere product. Joe Puerta, is currently a songwriter and performer currently residing in the Milwaukee area. He still tours with Ambrosia throughtout the United States and abroad. |
