Event to Explore Ag Tech Transformation and What It Means for 2016 Growing Season
ATLANTA, Ind.(May 11, 2016) Reynolds Farm Equipment, a leading agricultural equipment supplier, and Agrinovus Indiana, the state's ag innovation initiative, announced today that national ag tech expert Matt Bechdol will keynote the first ‘Future of Ag’ breakfast May 24.
Bechdol, president of ag transformation consultancy GeoSilos, will explore the increasingly important role of data in farming and offer insights into how it will impact the 2016 growing season and beyond.
“The pace of change in farming is accelerating as new technologies emerge that bring farmers even more ability to achieve greater productivity,” said Gary Reynolds, president and owner of Reynolds Farm Equipment. “Our ‘Future of Ag’ breakfast will offer farmers, agribusinesses and community leaders an opportunity to hear what’s coming in ag and how best to capitalize on the evolution underway.”
For nearly two decades, Bechdol has served in innovation roles on projects with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, NASA and the U.S. Department of Interior. The Hoosier native is both an Indiana and Purdue University graduate and serves an academic consultant and instructor at George Mason University.
“Technology is enabling farmers to unlock the opportunity to blend the art of production with the science of growing at a pace never before seen,” said Bechdol. “By exploring this reality, we will provide attendees a foundation to fuel higher levels of success – even amidst a challenging economic backdrop.”
In addition to Bechdol’s keynote, Reynolds Farm Equipment and AgriNovus Indiana will host a discussion and share real-world examples with local farmers and experts about how to begin using data to improve farm productivity.
The May 24 breakfast begins at 7:45 a.m. and is free to attend; however, online registration is required and is limited to the first 50 registrants. Registration is available online via EventBrite here.
The Future of Ag breakfast comes just hours before U.S. Farm Report produces a national television program on agricultural equipment at Reynolds Farm Equipment. Selected as one of 10 John Deere dealers nationwide to participate throughout 2016, the program will feature Reynolds experts and Indiana farmers discussing trends in the ag equipment market with U.S. Farm Report hosts and Farm Journal’s used equipment expert Greg Peterson.
